Royal Russell U13As 3-1 Westminster Under School

The U13As had a good performance which led to a great 3-1 win vs Westminster on Monday afternoon.

Royal Russell started the game well and Keeyan Davison and Maaliq Peter-Riley were a constant threat for the Westminster defence. The dynamic duo was causing all sorts of problems with their 1vs1 ability to beat their defenders. It was the 2 that combined for the first goal. Ollie Pritchard done well to win the ball back and find Keeyan Davison. The tricky forward slipped in Maaliq Peter-Riley who made no mistake in finishing with his left foot into the far corner, 1-0.

Russell continued to try play some good football and this was the cause of the Westminster equaliser. A mistake at back gifted the Westminster striker a 1 on 1 with Xavier Mahdi and the GK could do nothing with the finish, 1-1. This didn’t dappen the Russell spirit as they continued to fight. Ollie Pritchard, who was excellent all game won the ball to find Caden Serville. The forward played through Keeyan Davison at the halfway line. Keeyan showed tremendous pace to go through on goal and then had the composure to slot home for a deserved goal and 2-1 lead. Caden Serville then put the icing on the cake when he followed up a shot which was saved from Keeyan.

A good performance from the boys as they continue to show progression. Also great to see year 7s Maaliq Peter-Riley, Alex Waterton and George Gowland-Smith all step up and play well for the U13As.
