On Monday, the mighty U13B Football team travelled to Homefield in Sutton. Christian Verazzo opened the scoring in under 2 minutes with a well taken left foot snap shot resulting from good pressure. He shortly added a second and we were flying. Tyler Moreland looked full of running and backed up by right back and captain Alfie Yeoman, we looked a constant threat on that side of the park.
Dara David Ajibola and Henry Hayden de Carbonnières constantly looked to impose themselves in midfield and from one period of pressure the ball broke for left back Lauchlan Jones and he confidentially struck home.
He added his second shortly afterwards and as we approached half time, 4-0 looked a fair reflection.
But Two goals in quick succession from Homefield as a result of poor decision made under pressure and a lack of options meant that we had let them back into the game.
We rejigged the team at half time giving game time to Christian in goal and Ayaan Patel on the left wing.
He was involved in some excellent football as crisp passing allowed us to move the ball confidentially towards Homefields goal. Sadly the final pass often went astray, until Hayden Wood capitalised on some loose play and pounced.
Again we gifted Homefield another goal through poor communication and under hit passing.
However there was time for Laughlan to get his hat-trick from a penalty and therefore finish 6-3 winners.
