Boys Football - ESFA Elite Cup Last 16

Forest School U15As 3-0 Royal Russell U15As

The U15As put in a spirited display at Reading FC’s Training Ground but were ultimately undone by a very strong Forest School side, consisting entirely of Reading Academy players.

Royal Russell started with great intensity and stayed resilient despite conceding the opener from a mistake in possession. The boys fought back, nearly equalizing when Kuranosuke Abe’s effort struck the crossbar just before halftime.

After the break, Royal Russell created another golden opportunity, but Malachi Patrick’s one-on-one effort was brilliantly saved by the Forest keeper. From there, Forest School shifted gears, adding a second goal that deflated the team before securing a third. Despite the uphill battle, Lucas Brown produced two highlight moments. First pulling off a fantastic save and then following it up by saving a late penalty, showcasing his excellence throughout the game.

Defenders Santiago Black and Emerson Blackwell were standout performers, holding firm under relentless pressure. The entire team demonstrated incredible determination and fought valiantly until the final whistle.

Reaching the last 16 without a single academy player is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the team’s hard work and unity. A huge well done to everyone involved!

POTM: Lucas Brown
