Boys Football - ISFA Cup
Royal Russell U13As 0-2 Berkhamsted U13As

The U13As travelled to Berkhamsted for their ISFA Cup tie on Wednesday. Berkhamsted started the better side as they showed more hunger and desire in the 1st half. This led to Hugie Cousins having to pull off an outstanding save to keep it at 0-0. However they did take the deserved lead just before half time, 0-1.

We showed more fight in the 2nd half and this showed from the off. Maaliq Peter-Riley who was our best player on the day, smashed the underside of the cross bar and George Hewitt-Nunes followed up but could also only hit the post. Alex Waterton forced a save from the GK before Berkhamsted got a 2nd on the break, 2-0. We continued to show fight and Alex Waterton was next to hit the post, as it seemed like we just wouldn't score on the day. Maaliq won a penalty in the last minute but unfortunately missed despite his outstanding individual performance with the last kick of the game.

A real learning curve for the group to understand that at any level they need to show hunger and desire from the 1st minute.

POTM: Maaliq Peter-Riley
