Venue: at Home

To be fair, we wuz robbed!

This was the best performance of the year by this team, bar none and that includes the cup win, way back in September.

Miss Watson came over and questioned whether we were the B team, such was the quality and tempo of our passing game.

With James Redman and Ralph Lawson working hard in midfield, screening the back 4 of Guillaume de Rijk, Xoel Bravia Akande, Lincoln Lau and Izehi Obasuyi who were excellent throughout, we looked so comfortable on the ball; switching play and working hard for each other (coaches dream!). We created a number of chances throughout the game, none better than when Xoel fed Jayden McDonald on the left wing, he skill-fully skipped down the sideline before crossing dangerously. Unfortunately Dubem Okonkwo could quite get on the end of it. It would have been the goal of the season!

We started the second half determined to capitalise, but instead a moment of indecision and a lack of communication let them in and the ball was in the net! We fought to get back in the game and our overall dominance continued, but we just couldn’t find that final pass, so resorted to shooting from distance.

When the final whistle sounded there was a sense of some frustration in the air with a game that had slipped away from us.

We go again in 2 weeks against Downsend, our final match. Next year these players will be in the mix at senior football
