Match Report
Royal Russell School Boys-U15B vs  Glyn School
On: Saturday, 16 Nov 2024
Venue: at Home

On Saturday we played a block against Glyn school and again started slowly and hesitantly, quite uncharacteristically for such a lively squad of players. We have an unfortunate tendency to give away possession in dangerous areas at the moment and their lively left wing needed no second invitation. Losing captain Xoel Barcia-Akande with an ankle injury was never going to help our cause and although Basty Taylor showed some fighting spirit, too many other players simply didn’t want to battle and we were 3-0 down before we finally woke up and got playing. Good pressure was rewarded when Dilanesh Sanyasi got a goal in off a rebound and then Izehi Obasuyi’s shot defeated their keeper. 3-2 at half time and it was game on!
We switched formations and subbed a couple of players, but the team still looked very familiar, so to finish the game as we did, with a 7-2 loss was very disappointing. If the tricks and flicks are not working, then we need to recognise this and go back to basics. Tuesday gives us that chance as we play Downsend at home.
