Royal Russell U15A 3-0 Glyn
Despite the U15As making 4 changes to the starting line up from their QF triumph v Dover, the team showed the strength and quality of the group as they beat Glyn School 6-0.
It was a great start when captain Stanley Moore whipped in a free kick into the far corner to make it 1-0 after 2 minutes. It was soon 2-0 as Tom Scarles showed a turn of pace to get past his man and his well struck effort crept in from 20 yards out. The best goal of the game was a fantastic team goal involving 9 players touching the ball and 15 passes before Stanley Moore slotted home with his right foot. Lucas Cheung started the move with a great catch and the boys passed the ball with great speed, movement and penetration through the thirds before a clever set from Charles Hayden de Carbonneires allowed Stanley to score his second of the game. A great save from Lucas just before half time ensured the clean sheet remained, 3-0.
Joe Kennedy got his first goal of the season as he shot from 25 yards out after a short corner, 4-0. Arthur Leake got in on the action as he slotted home from a Cameron Anderson-Green cut back to make it 5. Harvey Wright-Phillips got the last goal of the game. Harry Dawes went on a great run and cut it back to Harvey who opened up from 18 yards and a struck a good effort which found the back of the net, 6-0.
A superb performance with so many positives to take. Stanley Moore and Tom Scarles linked up brilliantly on the left. The defence looked commanding. Whilst the likes of Arthur Leake, Harvey Wright-Phillips, Charles Hayden de Carbonneires and Karson Tsai showed the quality of this fantastic group of players.
